The pain in Bear's shoulder wasn't subsiding as much as he had hoped so we scheduled an appointment with the Dr. that initially diagnosed him with the overtraining issue. The plan now is to continue PT until early September, at which point if there is still pain, they will look into doing injections. I'm assuming when they say injections they mean cortisone/lidocaine, but it could be something different. He also indicated if that doesn't work, there is a secondary type of injection treatment that they can do, but they would wait until around the first of the year to do it.
Bear has been hesitant to use any sort of pain killer for fear of causing more permanent damage by masking the symptoms. However, given this is his last season, he figures he's got nothing to lose at this point.
