WCCW - END OF March, 1984 - MONTHLY REVIEW

POPULARITY

-Texas/Midsouth: 65.7% (Same as last month)
-Midwest: 57.8% (Up from 57.4% last month)
-Southeast: 40.0% (up from 37.7% last month)
-Great Lakes: 36.4% (up from 34.8% last month)
-Mid Atlantic: 36.4% (up from 34.8% last month)
-New England: 36.4% (up from 34.8% last month)
-North West: 36.4% (up from 34.8% last month)
-Tri-State: 36.4% (up from 34.8% last month)
-Southwest: 36.3% (up from 34.7% last month)
-Puerto Rico: 35.2% (up from 33.6% last month)
-Northern Mexico: 30.7% (same as last month)

-Any month I can keep Texas popularity steady is a good month. Midwest is up slightly, and the rest of the US sees more significant increases.

-In about a month, the TV stations will be accepting applications for new shows (to start June 1). That'll be a big time for WCCW. Technically under the game rules, since I'm now in 1984, I'm not limited to one TV show. If I can get a second national TV show, my popularity outside of Texas will increase twice as quickly. And if my Cult status limits me to only one show, I'll have to decide whether to cancel it, go dark for a few weeks, and try to come back with a better time slot.

FINANCES

Income (Last month in parenthesis):

Ticket Sales: 562,535 (513,120)
Sponsors: 77,312 (76,601)
Merchandise: 18,000 (20,480)

Expenses:

Worker Costs: 293,314 (306,099)
Show Costs: 113,500 (97,700)
Marketing: 25,000 (25,000)
Merchandise: 42,024 (42,920)
Production: 75,000 (75,000)
Misc: 162,507 (152,624)

Total Profit: $-53,498 ($-89,152)
Cash in Bank: $725,431 (778,929)

-While this is actually my best financial month since December '83 (in terms of money lost), we have to figure out how to turn the losses around - I've lost almost $200k in the last 3 months. At that rate, we'll be out of business in 12 months.

-The good news is, I apparently won't have any new owner goals (financial or otherwise) for a whole other year. I still have the 2-year reliance block, and apparently, new goals aren't set until ALL blocks and goals are "cleared".

-My plans for a "B crew" are on hold for now, at least until I reshape my roster in such a way that I can make a consistent profit.

-This month, I'm going to try an experiment, in light of these financial issues. All 9 shows for the month of April will be held in Texas. I'll also make a concerted effort to cut worker costs even more - hopefully down to at least $250,000 or so. If I can't make a nice profit doing that, then I'll have to make more drastic changes next month. The only other options are cutting some main eventers or increasing the number of shows we run. I guess I could run 3 shows every week, but we already have fatigue issues as is (if I went that way, it would be via a mini-brand split, i.e. a southeast "crew").
