-- Its funny how last year this would have been an *amazing* season but after we experience a little success sitting in 11th place but seeing a run at 7th quickly fade from the realm of possibility feels like a disappointment. We've blown a few solid chances to get ourselves firmly entrenched in the top 10, and at this point its starting to really just come down to money and pride, and just making sure there isn't a wild nosedive towards relegation. We should be safe, but its not a lock yet.

Ipswich(8-5-11, 11th) @ Chelsea (16-3-4, 2nd)

Chelsea are crazy 1:4 favorites today. We're 9:1 to get a win at their place.

GK: Capitani
D: Kirkland/Mattle/O'Brien/Jackson
DM: Clifford
M: Donnelly/Mills
AM: Hughes/Gordon
F: Bryan

I've got Hughes training to play AML and he's starting to learn it. Its probably not ideal to rush out and get him some time there against Chelsea but screw it, I like this formation. Clifford DMC, Hughes/Gordon AM, Bryan up front alone today.

7': they have a free kick about 20 yards out, a bit wide left, instead of shooting they pass to midfielder Haworth who is dead center 25 yards out, he blasts it, Capitani gets a hand to it but no, its a goal, no real chance to stop that. 0-1

19': Neil gordon is hurt, he can stay in though.

24': We build up on offense with a number of passes, finally Mills spots the smallest of openings and puts a ball into the area for Chris Bryan, he gets to it, its a clear cut chance but his man recovered quick and was going for a tackle... but Bryan finishes well, its in! 1-1

31': Jackson is hurt, again.

43': Yellow for defender Huston.

HALF: This is going to be tough to hang on to, they are putting tons of pressure on us with 13 shots total, but just 1 is on target and they settle for too many from long range. We shoot just 4 times but manage a goal. They're passing way better than we are and are clearly the better team, but we're fighting to get something out of it. McKerr is in for the injured Jackson at the half.

59': Donnelly with a yellow.

61': Constantino in for Bryan, Adagsmar in for Hughes.

72': Mills with a yellow.

79': They should have scored, a ball into the area for Balotelli and our defense looks really out of position, but he doesnt shoot right away and lets Capitani close a bit, the save is made.

We get out of here with a point!

Chelsea 1 : 1 Ipswich

They shoot 24 times, we shoot 5 times. They only put 5 on target, but we are thrilled with the point here.

Goal: Bryan (6.9)
Assist: Mills (7.6)
Notable: Donnelly (7.0)

Hughes with a 5.7, totally not fair to put him at a position he's not comfortable with yet on the road at Chelsea, not his fault.

Injury Update

-- Clive Jackson is having a tough year. He's out for 3 more weeks with a pulled hamstring this time.
