Julio's team received the kickoff first and we shut them down early with a key running stop on 3rd and 1 (or was it 2?) They punted and our offense marched right down the field with a combo of runs and quick passes and a QB run or two mixed in. We took a quick 7-0 lead.
They responded with a drive that was making some noise until our CB had a great interception of an underthrown deep ball. We marched down the field but stalled inside the redzone and settled for a FG. That gave us a 10-0 lead.
We managed to pressure his QB who became rattled and we forced a sack and a 4th and 13. They punted. We moved the ball and made it 17-0.
Julio's QB finally got it going and made a few nice plays including breaking two sacks and a nice little run. He marched down the field to make it 17-7 with 3 minutes to go.
We tried a methodical drive and wanted to score with 0 time left or as close as possible. We scored with a HB run that was a nice cut back-spin to make it 24-7 with 30 seconds left.
Then, Julio lost power
The CPU scored on us with 2 plays. A short pass and then a bomb for a TD. 24-14. Ouch.
They kicked off with 12 seconds left and our returner took it to the house to make it 31-14 at the half.
We got the ball back to start the 2nd half and marched down the field to make it 38-14 on a 3rd TD reception by Culver.
UTSA marched down the field but threw a red zone pick on an AMAZING leaping one handed interception by Franklin to end their next drive.
We marched right down the field again and made it 45-14.
In the 4th, we stepped off the gas and mostly ran it.
UTSA had a late nice passing TD to make it 48-21 with 3 minutes to go.
We recovered the onside kick and ran out clock with our 3rd string HB.
48-21 win for USC.
On the plus side for Julio, his DE got a school record 14th sack against us for a few bonus points of XP.
