DISPOSITION CHANGES
Quote:
Druid Hills: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to a balanced approach instead of win now.
Redan: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to a balanced approach instead of win now.
Marietta: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to a balanced approach instead of win now.
Harrison: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to win now!
Pope: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to a balanced approach instead of rebuilding.
Brookstone: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to win now!
Tucker: The team has officially stated that it set its focus to a balanced approach instead of win now.

DRU: 46-56, 9 games out of first.
RED: 46-56, 18 games out of first.
MTA: 42-60, 22 games out.
HAR: 64-38, in first.
POP: 50-52, 3 games out of Wild Card position
BRO: 53-49, tied for first
TUC: 43-59, 12 games out of first

I can live with all of those decisions. Now, let's see if the ones who moved to the margins (Harrison and Brookstone) made deals accordingly...

BIG DEADLINE TRADES
(involving a 3.5-star or higher player, or 4-star or higher prospect)
Southwest DeKalb makes a big pickup, sending 3 prospects to North Springs in exchange for C Daniel Belknap, a 4-star 27-year-old. Belknap has a good bat and decent arm at catcher, and has hit .313 over the course of '70 and '71, wtih 26 homers last year, and 16 so far this year. The Spartans, who are set to "rebuilding" pick up three pretty good prospects for a guy who was making $5.7M, and was eligible to make more via arbitration. I'll give this one a thumbs-up.

Harrison and Walton make a BIG trade. The "win-now" Hoyas send 5-star pitching prospect Ramiro Chacon to Walton in exchange for 4.5 star 29-year-old SP Simon Martinez.
