Lining up against a Khemri team and again we are again the under dogs. Our friends from above are there again, this time with 330,000 gold to use. I order and Igor, Some Extra Training and I offer bribes up to 3 of the Khemri, they are undead so who knows if they will take it or not. I also order Thanei to focus violent and heavy on his agility training.
None of the bribes panned out but Thanei looks like he is ready to go!
We kick off to start the match, which I honestly prefer anyway. Line up in a gap attack and inside gate. We will see how it works against the undead. A riot breaks out just as the kick off happens. We all stand around anxious, waiting to see if it spreads over to the field. But the ref is letting the clock run.
The receive the kick, scoop up the ball and blitz the right side of the field knocking down Orgus and knocking out Pestigor Shyish. We recover from the initial shock of the attack and focus on setting up a wall to stop the attack knocking down a few skeletons on our way.
Janus is blitzed by a Blitz-ra and is knocked out. Yaceteg and Frantz are both knocked on their backside. Davion knocked out a Thro-Ra. Orgus knocks down a Tomb Guardian and Balesk blitzes one knocking him down and then moves in front of the ball carrier setting himself up for a major block, but slowing down the attack.
Balesk takes a beating and stood up to four blocks getting pushed around, it wasn't until the fifth one where he stumbled as he was hit and knocked down. War-ash was knocked down and was stunned.
To-Ash blitzes a tomb guardian knocking him down and pushing Orgus out of another Tomb Guardians zone. Frantz knocks down a skeleton. Davion tries to dodge a Tomb Guardian and is knocked on his butt for it.
To-Ash takes a shot to the jaw by a Tomb Guardian and is knocked out cold. Yaceteg takes a shot by a Tomb Guardian and is knocked out too. they now have a wall set up on the right side of the field.
Balesk blitzes a skeleton and knocks him back, while Frantz goes after a tomb guardian, they both collide and both go down. Frantz was able to get his gauntlet into the guardians chin and scores a knock out.
Balesk is knocked down by a Blitz-Ra while Orgus was knocked down by a tomb guardian.
Balesk jumps up, dodges a Blitz-Ra and blitzes the ball carrier knocking him down and the ball into the stands, the fans throw the ball back onto the pitch and it lands in between Balesk, Frantz and Orgus.
Frantz and Balesk both get knocked down, they scoop up the ball and move towards the end zone. If we don't stop them, they will score before end of half.
Orgus goes to throw a block on a Tomb Guardian and goes down because of it and their Throw-Ra breaks free into the end zone. We are now down. 1-0
End of Half, we are down 1-0
Yaceteg is the only player still out cold. We line up to receive the kick. We set up in another Gap attack and are ready to move.
They blitz us on the kick, Orgus ends up on his backside to start our possession. War-ash goes and picks up the ball bobbling it but keeping it under control and drops back,. To-Ash drops a skeleton. Balesk blitzes a tomb guardian and knocks him out with his horns. Frantz and Sheri break free down the middle of the field. Joe and a skeleton go toe to toe and both end up on the ground.
A tomb guardian goes after To-Ash, but he stands his ground and knocks the Guardian down! Shyish blitzes a tomb guardian knocking him down. To-Ash breaks through down the middle of the field as does Balesk.War-Ash moves straight up the middle of the field and goes to pass fumbling the ball.
War-Ash is blocked into the ball and it is scooped up by a skeleton.
War-Ash jumps up, blitzes the skeleton and shatters its hip. It drops to the ground, ball and all. I order the guys to line up around the ball and protect it so we can clear the trash away. They do that. Janus throws a block on a skeleton and knocks it's knee completely away from him, but the shock of the hit knocked him to the ground.
Frantz takes a skeletal elbow to the temple and is knocked out cold but his head was rock hard and the force of the impact knocked the skeleton to the ground. War-Ash takes a blitz at the Thro-Ra by the ball and knocks him down into the ball, the ball scatters towards a Tomb Guardian, I order them to surround the guardian to force him to pick one to block and allow all of them to wallop him. Balesk attempts to pick up the ball and bobbles it.
A Thro-Ra attempts to pick up the ball and he does. The Thro-Ra took 4 blocks before Joe finally caught him right and knocked him down and the ball out of his hands. Shari knocks down a Tomb Guardian. Thanei dodges a Tomb Guardian and runs and picks up the ball. we have a wall set up in front of him. Orgus tries to dogde a Tomb Guardian and is tackled and knocked down.
War-Ash throws a block on a skeleton and they both go down. It leaves Thanei open for a complete whipping and he takes it right on the chin and drops the ball, collapsing on the ground. A Thro-Ra attempts to pick up the ball and bobbles it.
We manage to push the Thro-Ra's around the surround the ball but Shari attempts to block a skeleton, shattering it's hip, but she manages to go to the ground and is attempting to get back up.
With time expiring, their Thro-Ra drops the ball. There is an attempt by War-Ash to open up the route to the ball and he is knocked down, their Thro-Ra attempts to pick up the ball to pass it down the field and bobbles the attempt just as the whistle blows for the game.
We lose, 1-0
The stats for the game were 3 KOs, 3 Casualties, 18 yards running, 2 yards passing, 2 tackles sustained, 5 KOs sustained.
Our winnings for the match were 60,000 Gold and we had the ball for 27% of the time, however 73% of the time the ball was in the Underworlds side of the pitch.
Nurgle must be happy with War-Ash as he has grown a third arm!
