2015 Cranberry Classic – RESULTS

Bailey
# 45 (d2/s3): G 13-14 100 Fly (1:02.07Y ) – did much better than 3 weeks ago, finished in a 1:04.34…if she can keep this time around 2 seconds of her PB she’s probably in good shape to drop time at state.
# 49 (d2/s3): G 13-14 100 Breast (1:23.72Y ) – I didn’t get to see this race, so I don’t know if she improved her timing from streamline to pull phase, but she did drop more time – 1:22.00
# 57 (d2/s3): G 13-14 200 Medley (2:26.54Y ) – another swim that improved from 3 weeks ago…2:27.93
# 65 (d2/s3): G 13-14 200 Back (2:18.93Y ) – This was a very bad swim for Bailey…first time she’s done this event this season and she added a bunch of time, finishing in 2:27.17.
# 111 (d3/s5): G 13-14 200 Fly (2:17.54Y ) – not a great swim, but much better than 3 weeks ago when she went 2:27…This time she managed a 2:20.27, and coach was much more pleased with her form and swim.
# 115 (d3/s5): G 13-14 50 Free (27.86Y ) – found out this turn around was very quick, as Bailey was in the second to last heat of the fly and in the middle of the heats for the free. Only managed a 29.03
# 127 (d3/s5): G 13-14 100 Back (1:06.84Y ) – almost identical to a Gold Invite – 1:09.42 No word yet on if the coach thinks something is wrong with her backstroke.
# 131 (d3/s5): G 13-14 200 Free (2:11.27Y ) – out of gas and sore (apparently, very little room to warm down), only managed a 2:15.88

Bear
# 46 (d2/s3): B 13-14 100 Fly (1:04.00Y ) – continues to hang around his PB – 1:04.45
# 58 (d2/s3): B 13-14 200 Medley (2:16.75Y ) – added a bunch of time…fly and breast were the biggest strokes where adds occurred. 2:21:35
# 66 (d2/s3): B 13-14 200 Back (2:20.89Y ) – again a pretty poor swim for Bear – 2:23.88
# 70 (d2/s3): B Open 1650 Free (17:53.78Y ) – Very disappointing effort for Bear. He did state that he forgot to take his inhaler before the race (not sure how that happens at this point, but it did). Added 20+ seconds, which may not be a big deal in the grand scheme of things, since distance times can vary significantly…18:21.62
# 112 (d3/s5): B 13-14 200 Fly (2:13.93Y ) – added time again, 2:17.02
# 118 (d3/s5): B Open 50 Free (26.16Y ) – similar to his personal best – 26.26
# 128 (d3/s5): B 13-14 100 Back (1:08.78Y ) – said his walls were much better, something was better as he got his lone personal best of the weekend – 1:06.35
# 132 (d3/s5): B 13-14 200 Free (2:00.78Y ) – swam ok for final race with the same fatigue, soreness that my other two were experiencing – 2:02.72

Brett
# 52 (d2/s3): B Open 100 Breast (1:13.32Y ) – Brett did manage another drop 1:12.60
# 60 (d2/s3): B Open 200 Medley (2:30.12Y ) – Based on time, the fly was much better, resulted in a PB time of 2:26.36
# 68 (d2/s3): B Open 200 Back (2:25.98Y ) – This one wasn’t good – 2:29.50
# 70 (d2/s3): B Open 1650 Free (20:11.76Y ) – said he was extremely sore even before this race…his inability to warm down well hampering him – 20.14.34. I don’t think the coach was very pleased with this result.
# 118 (d3/s5): B Open 50 Free (27.76Y ) – got another personal best – 27.07.
# 122 (d3/s5): B Open 200 Breast (2:37.34Y ) – Huge improvement here, in fact his time of 2:34.31 – is a 3 second drop from his previous personal best, a time that was over a year old…and more importantly it was 5 to 9 seconds faster than what he had been swimming this race in recently.
# 130 (d3/s5): B Open 100 Back (1:11.44Y ) – like the first day of racing, after a couple of drops, his results started sliding…did manage to stay close to his personal best – 1:12.54
# 134 (d3/s5): B Open 200 Free (2:05.30Y ) – not a good swim, especially after his results 3 weeks ago – 2:10.55 – said he was worn out and sore again.

Note: Brett has a bad cough and is running a fever this morning (Monday), so that probably helps explain the lack of stamina later each day of the meet
