Quick Update

So through this thread I know I've posted several times how abnormally difficult Bailey's age group in this state is. I now have a perfect way to illustrate it.

Just last weekend the Georgia Senior State Short Course Championships took place. This is the meet State Meet for any swimmers over 14. Bailey actually qualified to swim at this meet, but her coach didn't want her too, and we agreed seeing little to no benefit trying to compete in this meet and the Age Group State Meet in February. While Bailey didn't compete, several from her age group did, and here is how they ended up:

Addie F (14) - 5th overall
Courney (14) - 19th overall

Addie F (14) - 2nd overall
Addie Rose (14) - 6th overall
Jade (14) - 11th overall
Courtney (14) - 25th overall
Katherine (13) - 29th overall

So...with the exception of a 27 year old, the top 3 flyers in the State are all 14 or under - no wonder Bailey can't medal)

I'm not going to do the distance swims and most of the girls above elected not to swim the 200 IM, so I'll skip that one as well. However, given the places these girls finished for an open competition, it's pretty obvious how strong Bailey's age group is...

In fact, I expect some of these girls will be at Olympic trials this year. They won't make the team...but they will probably be at trials...
