I beleive this makes Lathum look good. Though this isn't a normal cunning as it seems that he didn't even know he was or who the others were.
Normal cunning would mean Lathum is gold. In this situation it's still up in the air (he may scan as villager but he also thinks he is a villager so getting rid of him early may be their best bet so he doesn't screw them up (see my earlier comment about Danny being an asset to the village as a villager, which is what he would have been trying to be).
