So Bailey admitted last night, that her experience with Berry was a real turn off. That she felt not wanted by her host and felt like a burden to the swimmer that was nice enough to take her in. I think we can pretty much shut the door on this school. It's sad that 1 disinterested person can have that much of an impact, because Bailey seemed to enjoy the other aspects of the team. Shame on the coach for not being better prepared and for not assigning a more personable teammate to host Bailey, especially given how good Bailey would be for his team.

I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday to their recruiting show and this exact thing came up. The guy talked about how important the host is to the process. The gist of his point was, no matter what happens on the field, a good coach can talk up the positive points ("Yes, we lost, but here's why and once you're here, here's how you'll be able to help us win!"). However, if the recruit's host is not personable and makes the recruit feel alienated or not wanted, you might as well write that recruit off.
