Meh. I've read enough Phillip K. Dick to know that the man was brilliant (I haven't read this book, however) and his ability to create a dystopic reality is what makes his stuff fun like Orwell or Bradbury.

I'm not sure if it's just the fact that the medium (rotoscope animation) was basically 95% of the movie. I found myself watching the rotoscoping more than the actual movie at many points.

I think, like Memento, if the "trick", in this case the rotoscoping, wasn't there the movie would have been horrible.

All the acting in it is well done, but the ending wasn't a "wow" moment at all and you pretty much see it coming from almost the first 15 minutes.

Definitely glad I rented.

I'm basically in the undecided camp on this movie (saw it in the theatre when it came out)... but im 100% with you in finding the medium itself very distracting. For me personally, im just not sure rotoscoping animation makes for a watchable movie... it just kind of distracts and annoys me.
