I never really think about the sexuality of characters in general. I mean, now that it's been fairly obviously made a point that Renly and Loras are gay, it fits in, but I don't find it particularly germane to the plot or character development.
On another note, I was glad to see the scene in the dungeon with the dragon skulls. I recently re-read the passage while going through my re-read of the books and couldn't remember who was with Varys.
The scene with Theon felt pretty out of place.
