Longthorn falls victim to the midfield injury curse, but it's short term. Unfortunately, our next game is just three days away.
In the first half against Notts County, it's a veritable shooting gallery. Shot after shot after shot comes flying in on net.
Unfortunately, it's my net they were attacking.
Fortunately, out of the 9 shots (all on target
) Fahey saved em all.
At halftime, Fahey gets a laugh from the rest of team asking if he gets combat pay for this one.
Two minutes into the 2nd half, Birchall scores on our FIRST shot on target.
Fahey does give up a 2nd half goal (on a rebound, nothing he could do about it, the first save was magnificent, but left him on the ground), but we manage to hold on for a 1-1 tie.
*sigh* Thank goodness we have a week off in between games. Our midfield is now COMPLETELY injured. Campbell and Lescott picked up tweaks (only missing 5 days each, but COME ON)... Here's what our midfielders look like
List of Midfielders and Attacking Midfielders
Campbell - Damaged Shoulder (5 days)
Lescott - Strained Neck (5 days)
Savage - Broken Leg (7 months)
Trollope - Fractured Cheekbone (a week)
Longthorn - Damaged Shoulder (3 days)
Charnley - Uninjured, but I think he's still in the trainer's room taking oxygen after playing 90 competitve minutes at 42.
Mirza - Uninjured (as a preventitve measure I have ordered him to be swathed in cotton. so nothing can hurt him)
Disley - Sprained Ankle (3 weeks)
