Diss Town 2 - 0 Alfreton Town (FA Trophy 4th Qual. Rnd)

The media is claiming a triumph of tactics for the Diss Town head coach after defeating Alfreton Town 2 - 0.

The first noteworth incident of the match proved to be controversial, with Alfreton seeing a goal disallowed. Diss finally took the lead when striker Jack Defty scored a placed shot in the 51st minute. An error from Grant Cooper allowed midfielder Callum Kearns to score a close range effort.

Holy cow! We did it...and it was all the players, I stuck to my guns and what we have been doing all season long and they pulled it off. Keeper Matt Bowles handled the net just fine and wasn't intimidated. This win helps me secure some negotiating room though for the contract that is up at the end of the season.

A little bit more aggressive on our end...We just wanted this more and definitely proved it to the entire UK.

We have now lost any chance of surprise as Corby, another Blue Square North team is our FA Trophy 1st round match.

Our next match is a league match away against Redbridge.
