Deion Marsh was asking for huge money, my offer was intended to win out if there were not big-bonus offers out there. Indeed, nobody else even bid on the guy, so I effectively overpaid with my $60m/yr deal. Basically, he's ours as long a our cap situation warrants him staying around.
He's a non-affinity guy...but 75/75 5th year player in a no-injury league? Yeah, this was a risk worth taking, I think. Worst thing that happens is he's a star for us for a couple of years, and then we cut/deal him to free up cap space. And maybe for all that money, we...uhhh... settle for a lesser assistant coach or something. Deal.
