This gets compounded when the people doing it are long time players who people will generally take VERY seriously when they say something. Thats not the persons fault realy, but it just makes being the target of the situation that much more frustrating.

Something to keep in mind is that when you can be predicted to reliably act in a certain way, the bad guys can use that against you. For instance, a wolf will realize that he can get under your skin with some baseless accusations and that your response may help to get you killed off.
