Bill Learns Revenge Ain't Cheap!
Before the 2002 Exhibition season starts, I thought it would be interesting to give you some info on the financial aspects of Bill's little venture so far.
For the 2001 Season, our balance sheet was like this:
We generated $85,910,000 in Revenues, based mostly on the TV Contract ($26,920,000), Ticket Revenue ($25,880,000), and Suite Revenues ($23,150,000).
However, our costs totalled $103,980,000. Player contracts ($46,030,000) and Coaching Staff costs ($35,000,000) made up the bulk of our expenses.
These factors combined to give the Giants a net loss of $18,070,000 for the 2001 season. When Added to the $600,000,000 Bill paid for the team back in 2000, and the $20,000,000 or so lost during the 2000 season,
Bill's scheme has so far cost him about $638,000,000 dollars. And that's BEFORE he's paid one cent of his $100,000,000 commitment to building Bill Gates Stadium 1.0.
Who knew revenge could be so costly?
Season Team Losses
2000 $620,000,000
2001 18,000,000
Total $638,000,000
