Champions League qual round 3, Leg 1:
Brøndby - Panathinaikos AO FT 1-1 / ( HT 0-0)

Brøndby was the dominant team in the first half of the game. They had a total of 11 shots in the first half but only 5 of them was on target and most was from fare outside the arrear. In the other end of the field Karim Zaza only had one shot to look after in the first 45 minutes of play.
In the second half the audience of 27529 had to wait until the 75th minute for the first goal. Leon Andreasen sends a high ball in to the penalty arrear where Peter Graulund was held down. Penalty Brøndby. Dan Anton Johanson made no mistakes and put Brøndby up 1-0. Brøndby continued to press on to get the important second goal but the tactic backfired 10 minutes later. Panathinaikos AO took full advantage of one of Brøndbys weak spots, when they challenged Per Nielsen on speed. He was chanceless against Dimitriadis and he made no mistake one-on-one with Karim Zaza. 1-1.
Brøndby had a few more chances and won the shot-statistic 19-2 but the final result was 1-1.
Not a great result for Brøndby. They now have to travel to Greece and win (or draw 2-2 or more). This is of cause not impossible but Panathinaikos AO must be considered huge favourites after tonight’s result.
Brøndby Game MVP: Per Nielsen (rating: 8)
