Season, over.

Every now or then, the football gods have decided that one team and one team only will win a particular game. Today, they decided it wasn't the Merchantmen's turn, but the Chesapeake Chitterlings'. Earnest Ashley was dropped back to earth, as if he wasn't there already, losing the ball on our first two drives after a sack. Aside from the fact that our O-line shouldn't struggle this terribly, nor should Ashley magnetically pick sacks up, but it happened. We were 13-0 down then and never recovered. We had our chances, were actually winning the field position battle and outgaining them, but a couple of late game interceptions ruined that. In between, both offenses showcases fun bits of football, but at the end of the day, the home team had the 26-19 victory secured.

European Division:
1. Gothenburg 13-0
2. Paris 6-6-1
3. Maassluis 4-9
4. Bordeaux 3-10

We're mathematically still alive, actually. But with the virtual #6 and #7 seeds sitting at 7-6 with a head-to-head win against us, we dropped the ball in those clashes. All that's left for us is doubling up on victories over Bordeaux this season, then spoiling the Williamsburg Colonials' playoffs hopes and finishing the season by rolling up the Paris Musketeers, to deny their playoffs dreams and just because they have it coming after making us look like a high school football team that was playing a game for the first time. At least, that's what we hope for. And should expect from this 53-some. So team, what will it be?
