Coaching Skill Upgrades

I did not meet any goals this year and thus earn no additional points to improve my coaching abilities.

Postseason Play

Hampton beat Howard to win the MEAC Tournament, they earned the 14 seed in the South, to face 3 seed Alabama.

1 seeds were: Gonzaga, Memphis, Illinois, and Stanford.

The final four consisted of 3 1 seeds, and a 7 seed.

Gonzaga beat Stanford 87-82 in one semifinal.

Illinois beat 7 seed Louisville in the other semifinal.

In the national title game, Illinois beat Gonzaga 67-60.


Awards

Notre Dame's Luke Harangody was the player of the year, averaging 27.7 ppg.

Gonzaga's Josh Heytvelt was the mid-major player of the year.

Illinois' Bruce Weber won coach of the year.


First Team All Americans:

PG Eugene Harvey - Seton Hall
SG Stephen Curry - Davidson
SF Jonathan Rodriguez - Campbell
PF Josh Heytvelt - Gonzaga
C Luke Harangody - Notre Dame


MEAC Awards

Howard's SF Eugene Myatt was the player of the year, averaging 20.3 ppg.

SF Spanky Schmidt of winston salem State was the freshman of the year, 7.8 ppg/6.7 rpg.

PG Joe Ballard - Florida A&M - 7.3 ppg/5.4 apg
SG Austin Ewing - NC A&T - 16.3 ppg
SF Eugene Myatt - Howard - 20.3 ppg
PF Michael Freeman - Hampton - 14.7 ppg/7.8 rpg
C Scott Hayes - NC A&T - 13.0 ppg/7.9 rpg

PG Joey Woods - Bethune-Cookman - 13.0 ppg
SG Ed Tyson - MD-Eastern Shore - 15.5 ppg

We did pretty well in the conference award arena.
