Leduc's Juan Miranda picked up the Rookie of the Month honors for August in the Continental League.

Posting a .311 average last month, he collected 23 hits, 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

This year Miranda is batting .307 with 98 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 44 times and has batted in 63 runs.

The Republic League has made it official -- Gabe Payton is the winner of the Rookie of the Month award.

During August the Colorado shortstop was outstanding with a .406 batting average, no home runs and 17 RBIs. Payton also had 6 walks and posted a .441 on-base percentage.

Thus far this year Payton is batting .333 with no home runs, 53 RBIs and 66 runs scored.
