Week 8
BYE
We can use the break. With a few key players down, this gives us a chance to get healthy, or at least not get any worse.

Week 9
Atlanta 4-3 @ Dallas 4-4
Two weeks ago, Dallas gave the Jets their first win of the season. Last week they were the first team to beat the Saints. Which team will show up this week? Nobody knows. They are a very average team. If they have a weakness it is defending the pass, but we will not likely be able to exploit this.

We win this game relatively easily, largely thanks to great Defense. Nixon ran for 121 yards, but he only averaged 3 yards per carry and was held out of the end zone. To make matters worse, another lineman was hurt. Next week 4 of our 5 starting linemen will be playing through the pain of injuries. Final 17-3.

Mid Season review.
Sitting at 5-3 we are in solid contention for the wild card spot in the playoffs. We will have trouble winning the division this year as the Jonesboro Saints have gone from being one of the worst teams in the League to being one of the best. We are two games behind them, however we still have to play them twice. If we can sweep the season series then we are in the drivers seat. But then again, they just might sweep us.

Leland is clearly having a down year. Yes he is leading the league in rushing yards with 927, but his average of just 3.79 is the lowest he has had in years. Also, Leland is well known for his ability to find the end zone. While 5 TDs isn't bad for a RB at this point in the year it is well below his 15+ average. At this rate, Leland will not reach any of his preseason goals (2000 yards, 15 TD and a 4.0 average).
