SAA Conference Championship - Bear

When we got to the meet on Wednesday, the wife was chatting with one of the other parents then they asked, "How's Bear's eye?"

Well, this was news to us, we weren't aware anything was wrong with Bear's eyes. We did see it a bit on Wednesday, but we didn't get a chance to talk to him about it. Yesterday he explained what happened.

During his last ever practice one of the breaststroke girls kicked him right in the googles. He said it hurt, but it wasn't anything terrible. It wasn't like he felt like he had a concussion, and it didn't feel like anything terrible had occurred, it just hurt. When he got to the wall he got out and took his goggles off, and was just standing there relaxing, but blood was pouring down his check. The coach sprinted to the trainers to get help. All the while Bear just stood there. One of his teammates told him, it was pretty hardcore - standing there with blood gushing out of your eye socket and you just as relaxed as can be.

Turns out the kick had caused the goggles to cut it eye in several places, including a couple of small place on the eyelid itself. He has a nasty black eye that is still a bit oozy, but he says it really doesn't hurt at all.

He did go to the doctor, whey they told him that his eye is fine. There is no damage and nothing that should impact his vision.
