Strange Days - 8.5/10
No idea how I'd never heard of this film before. Good idea, decent if stereotypical characters, and a good if predictable climax.

Pan's Labyrinth - 10/10
Said a bit about it in the Pan's Labyrinth thread, and this instantly becomes a favourite movie of mine. Walked in to the cinema with no expectations, and was absolutely blown away. Watch it if you haven't already.

Zatoichi - 8/10
The latest one from a few years ago. Very fun movie. Lots of folks weren't happy with Beat Takeshi playing Zatoichi, but I thought he did a great job, and the support characters were all pretty solid, especially Tadanobu Asano as Hattori Genosuke.

Laputa: Castle in the Sky - 6.5/10
Pretty uneven effort compared with other Studio Ghibli classics IMO. Had some really great things about it, but also dragged in places. Scores lower than it probably deserves because of how much I've enjoyed the other Ghibli releases like Mononoke/Pom Poko/Totoro/et al.
