Yamato is about the a group of friends who are crew aboard the Battleship Yamato in WWII. The Yamato was the biggest battleship ever built and the pride of the Japanes navy.
In the movie we follow the persons as they leave their families to go to war. The bond between the main characters is shown and we get to see that they are just normal people like everybody else.
Also, the movie follows a descendant of one of the main characters as she tries to get to the place where the Yamato was sunk on the 50th anniversary of its loss.
By coincidence she meets one of the main characters, who agrees to sail her to the place.
Maybe I should notch the rating up by a point to 7.5/10.
Its worth watching.
