As always this will be a short post, with opening week being nothing more than a glorified opening weekend. Again, I'll only cover the teams that played a game on opening weekend as there were only 13 games, but 1 was a feature game.

Tulsa (Will Brown) -- Both teams shot lights out in this one, the difference was fouls. Michigan committed 23, Tulsa 9. Free throws: Tulsa 22-27, Michigan 4-4. Need I say more. Home team bias!

A decent effort for the Hawks and a tough way to start, but it gets easier.

Although it wasn't top notch competition, the Pirates will be thrilled to start the season with a win.

Good start for the career of Coach Brown and the Golden Hurricane.
Clemson (Charles Johnson) -- 0-1, 0-0 ACC.
11/10/17- New York Classic First Round vs. (14) Air Force (L 54-51).
Yuck! Not a good debut at all for Charles and the Tigers. Major upset here.
Duke (Dean Hoo) -- 1-0, 0-0 ACC.
11/10/17- Hall of Fame Classic First Round vs. (15) Southern Illinois (W 63-55).
Good start to the career of Coach Hoo, although the Blue Devils struggled at times, they did pull it out.

Not a good way to start for the Wolverines, but Tulsa is a tough team and it was on the road.

Easy win for the Spartans who have to feel a little shunned at not receiving any preseason votes.
Rice (Charlie Shocker) -- 1-0, 0-0 Conference USA.
11/11/17- Rainbow Classic First Round vs. (3) Radford (W 87-75).
Good start for the Owls, who will play for a season tournament championship next week.
Norfolk State (Payten Carrano) -- 1-1, 0-0 MEAC.
11/10/17- Los Angeles Classic First Round vs. (2) Nevada (L 72-46).
11/11/17- Los Angeles Classic 3rd Place Game vs. (4) Siena (W 62-60).
A split in the season tournament for the Spartans, about as expected. Siena could end up being a good team before the season is over, and this could end up being a good win.
Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 1-1, 0-0 Pac 12.
11/10/17- New York Classic First Round vs. (15) Duquesne (W 67-42).
11/12/17- New York Classic Quarterfinals vs. (7) Duquesne (L 71-63).
A split for the Buffaloes, who expected a deeper run in this tournament, but Duquesne is a good team.

11/10/17- Hall of Fame Classic First Round vs. (14) Bucknell (W 75-43).
Easy victory for the Bruins right off the bat, and we're still on pace for a Duke/UCLA semifinal.

11/12/17 vs. Florida Gulf Coast (L 53-50).
Tough loss for the Trojans, but they've got some winnable games coming up.
