No feature games this week, so to the weekly recap we go!

Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- 1-1, 0-0 America East.

11/18/17 at Delaware (W 81-74).

The Hawks get a good road win as they head into their season tournament next week.

ECU (Al Hutt) -- 1-1, 0-0 American.

11/17/17 at Illinois (L 74-37).

It's clear that the Pirates still have some work to do, as they get blasted. Fortunately they have 10 days off before their next game, so plenty of practice time.

Tulsa (Will Brown) -- 1-1, 0-0 American.

11/17/17 at Creighton (L 78-58).

A letdown for the Golden Hurricane after the win over Michigan. They head into their season tournament next week.

Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 0-1, 0-0 Atlantic 10.

11/13/17 at Xavier (L 79-71).

Tough one for the Wildcats who played well but couldn't come out with a road win.

Clemson (Charles Johnson) -- 0-1, 0-0 ACC.

No games this week for Coach Johnson and the Tigers.

Duke (Dean Hoo) -- 1-1, 0-0 ACC.

11/13/17- Hall of Fame Classic Quarterfinals vs. (7) Richmond (L 73-69).

Certainly an unexpected loss for the Blue Devils, but they've got almost 2 weeks to regroup as they don't play again for 13 days.

#5 Kansas (Dave Johnson) -- 2-0, 0-0 Big 12.

11/15/17 at Vanderbilt (W 83-57).
11/19/17- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic First Round vs. (8) Robert Morris (W 58-39).

Good start to the career of coach Johnson, as the Jayhawks beat up on a couple opponents this week.

TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 2-1, 0-0 Big 12.

11/16/17- Charleston Classic First Round vs. (2) Boise State (L 75-64).
11/17/17- Charleston Classic Consolation Round vs. (3) Washington (W 65-50).
11/19/17- Charleston Classic 5th Place Game vs. (5) Penn State (W 67-57).

Nice recovery from the Horned Frogs to win 2 after losing their first. Surprisingly, this is their worst finish in an 8 team tourney since this dynasty started. I'd have to go back and look, but my guess is there wasn't a lot of top teams in their first 2 tourneys.

Michigan (Cillian Tribble) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big Ten.

11/14/17 at Western Illinois (W 91-54).

It's always nice for the Wolverines to get that first win of the season, even if it was against subpar competition. They'll head into their season tournament next week.

Michigan State (Al Mighty) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big Ten.

11/16/17 at West Virginia (L 73-70).

The Spartans should take no shame in losing to a very good West Virginia team, on the road. Next week they've got 2 games, 1 should be a test and the other should be a piece of cake.

Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 2-0, 0-0 Big Ten.

11/13/17 vs. Illinois Chicago (W 89-60).
11/18/17 at Lipscomb (W 61-56).

Good for the Wildcats for starting 2 and 0, and they really have a chance to build on that as they start their season tournament next week, and unless they meet one in the tournament, aren't scheduled to face a P5 team until Big Ten play starts.

Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big West.

11/13/17 at New Mexico State (L 56-53).
11/18/17 at UMKC (W 61-51).

A split to open the season for the Warriors, and they start their season tourney next week.

Charlotte (Timmy Tribble) -- 0-0, 0-0 Conference USA.

Coach Tribble and the 49ers are still waiting to play their first game. They'll get underway next week with their season tournament.

Rice (Charlie Shocker) -- 2-0, 0-0 Conference USA.

11/13/17- Rainbow Classic Championship vs. (4) New Hampshire (W 79-77).

Congrats to Coach Shocker and the Owls for being the first time to win a season tournament this season. Although the competition wasn't great, any tournament win is a big thing and it easily surpasses their other finishes, which were 3rd place and 4th place.

Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 1-2, 0-0 MAAC.

11/16/17- Puerto Rico Tip-Off First Round vs. (4) FIU (W 64-61).
11/17/17- Puerto Rico Tip-Off Semifinal vs. (8) Cal State Fullerton (L 82-63).
11/19/17- Puerto Rico Tip-Off 3rd Place Game vs. (7) South Alabama (L 71-63).

The season started off good for the Hawks, as they won their opening game, but went south quickly with 2 straight losses. 4th place is nice, but they had it set up to have so much more.

Norfolk State (Payten Carrano) -- 2-1, 0-0 MEAC.

11/13/17 vs. Navy (W 74-72, OT).

Another 2 point win for the Spartans, and it took overtime to do it. But hey, it's a far cry from getting beat by 26 points, right?

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 1-1, 0-0 Pac 12.

No games this week for Coach Nielsen and the Buffaloes.

Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 3-0, 0-0 Pac 12.

11/14/17- Hall of Fame Tip-Off First Round vs. (7) Bowling Green (W 53-47).
11/18/17- Hall of Fame Tip-Off Semifinal vs. (6) St. Joseph's (W 79-70).
11/19/17- Hall of Fame Tip-Off Championship vs. (5) Evansville (W 71-67).

Congrats to Coach Sanchez and the Cardinal on another tournament championship, but they know they got a huge break by not having to face top seed Louisville. Oh well, you still have to beat who is put in front of you, and they did that.

#11 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 2-0, 0-0 Pac 12.

11/13/17- Hall of Fame Classic Quarterfinals vs (6) Georgia (W 84-62).

The Bruins easily dispatch of another opponent and move on to the semifinals next week.

Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 0-1, 0-0 Pac 12.

11/16/17- Legends Classic First Round vs. (1) #10 Oklahoma (L 89-57).

This one went about how I thought it would go, as the Cougars got absolutely hammered. They'll try to regroup next week in the consolation round.

Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 1-2, 0-0 SEC.

11/14/17- Hall of Fame Tip-Off First Round vs. (6) St. Joseph's (L 65-55).
11/18/17- Hall of Fame Tip-Off Consolation Round vs. (7) Bowling Green (L 67-58).
11/19/17- Hall of Fame Tip-Off 7th Place Game vs. (8) UT Arlington (W 75-66).

Not a good tournament for the Crimson Tide, who had to come from behind and rally just to finish 7th. It's still better than their last 8 team tournament, in which they finished last.

Florida (Noah Oppenheimer) -- 1-0, 0-0 SEC.

11/15/17 vs. #20 Arizona (W 68-67).

The Gators survive a 7 point halftime deficit to come back and stun Arizona, and this one came down to the final shot. Next week they start their season tournament.

#2 Kentucky (Patrick Hutt) -- 1-0, 0-0 SEC.

11/18/17- Cancun Challenge First Round vs. (8) Ohio (W 78-61).

The Wildcats start the season with a win, and move on to the semifinals next week.

Troy (Brett Hawkins) -- 1-1, 0-0 Sun Belt.

11/18/17 at Indiana State (W 73-63).

Nice recovery for the Trojans after the opening season loss. They never trailed in this one and will move on to their season tournament next week.

Let's take a look at the national Top 25 going into next week:

So Kentucky stays put at #2 while Kansas and UCLA each move up 2 spots. Florida is now in the top 25, taking Arizona's spot at 20 after beating them. The 3-0 start for Stanford has them getting votes, while Michigan State, with their loss this week, loses all their votes.

Not a good week for our FOFC mid-majors as Tulsa, ECU, Davidson, and Hawaii all lose their votes. Rice continues to gain votes with their 2-0 start and season tournament win, and despite having yet to play a game, Charlotte got votes this week. Crazy.
