NC A&T (10-12, 6-5 MEAC) at MD-Eastern Shore (7-14, 2-9 MEAC)

We only played the first half against these guys at home. We had a 55-23 lead and simmed out the rest of the game. Here's hoping for similar results.

I do make one lineup change today. I had been starting Shiloh at SF most of the season, hoping that having 3 speedy guards would help my transition game, and hoping Shiloh could be a defensive stopper with a 81 defense rating. He's crashing the boards so he doesn't help in transition, and his defensive awareness is awful so his defense doesn't seem to help as much as I'd like, espicially now that I've switched to a 2-3 zone. So I move 6'6” Robert Johnson into the starting lineup at SF. He won't do much either but he's a better rebounder and gives me more size in the back of that zone. Shiloh is my backup SG now.

What a difference home court makes, eh? We fall behind 7-0 and 9-2, cut the lead down to 11-9, then allow 6 straight to fall back by 8 again. Ewing just went 1-2 from the line to make it 17-10. Backups are in.

They make a 3 to go up 20-10 before we get rolling. Blocked shots on UMES' last two offensive sets have led to easy baskets.

We call a timeout to get the starters back in, as UMES has run off 4 straight and our run is over with the backups.

Our first lead of the game. Ewing has hit a 3 and drawn a foul, sending him to the line for a couple. Coleman just got a 3 point play, his free throw giving us the lead.

We shoot absolutely terribly, but draw a ton of fouls and make our living at the free throw line.

Ewing has 13, Coleman 7. Hayes only has 2 points and seems like he may not be full strength with his injury(he's listed as day to day for another couple days).

They've hit 3 3's already and start out the second half on fire. I sit Ewing who is more tired than anyone else. Shiloh is in for him early.

6 straight points from Alston in transition, one bucket off a steal and two off long rebounds, and UMES burns a time out.

We get back out in the lead by 1. Backups are in, plus Ewing at SG. They've cooled off quite a bit to fuel our transition offense.

After a 3 by Ewing and a 3 point play by Shepherd UMES burns another timeout. They've picked up a couple buckets themselves and its just a 1 possession game w/ 10 minutes left.

Two three's and an easy inside shot and its all of a sudden a 5 point deficit. I sub in Shiloh for Ewing to rest up all my starters for the final 6 minutes or so.

Ewing burns his man for a layup. After they score, Ewing hits an open 3 pointer, and after a missed shot we get Hayes a good look inside that he's able to convert on. Tie game!

After another miss, we set up our offense quickly and Ewing burns his man again for a layup. He's having a great day. The fact that UMES has a 6'7 SF on him in man to man doesn't hurt.

We put them on the line where they go 1-2. we burn most of the shot clock on our possession before getting coleman a 10 foot jumper that he misses. Hayes has position on his man though and auto-tips it in. After a miss, Ewing pump fakes, gets his man in the air, steps to the left and buries an open 3! We go up by 6.

We burn the shot clock a bit, then work an inside out game with Coleman and Ewing. Ewing makes another 3, he is absolutely on fire.

They make a 2 pointer to make it 80-76. We've only got one great free throw shooter, and its Ewing, so I keep the ball in his hands the rest of the way.
