-- Coggins has to miss another match after his yellow card in the last one. He'll miss the Cup final. He wasn't going to start anyway.

-- We have a U18 match on Oct 6th and a reserve match on Oct 8th. i make my starters available for those since there's no league match until the cup final on the 15th.

-- AMR Ian Cooper is hurt in the U18 match, he'll miss about a week. So he might not be able to go in the finals. That would be a pretty big blow if that's the case.

North America Amateur Cup Final

Match Fit Academy vs Wake Forest Cougars

Attendence: 1426

I was hoping for more fans.

Starting Lineup

GK: Gyan
D: Campbell/Pickering/Galvis/Arroyo
DM: Williams
M: Glaser/Shakespeare
AM: Rose/Cooper
ST: Pace

Cooper isn't 100% fit, but he can start and we'll see how long we can go without having to sub him out. Pace will start in Navarro's place.

Jordan Schmid is their big star. Schmid has 7 goals and 5 assists in 6 matches in this Cup so far. We're going to try to close down on him any time he touches the ball.

1': they earn an early corner, taken into the 6 yard box.. headed, off the crossbar and over.

4': We get our first shot, Cooper to Shakespeare for a header, but stopped easily.

13': They build up down the right side for a shot, but its a very off target shot from 20 yards out.

16': Another shot wide from Match Fit.

22': Galvis with an interception to start our offense, Rose does most of the work, with just a pass to Pace at one point, Rose gets it back, gets by his man and into the area, its actually a clear cut chance.. but high.

40': Pace is hurt and forced to leave the match. Randy Adamson tackled him pretty hard, he gets a yellow. Roth is in.

43': Shakespeare hits the crossbar from 25 yards out on a free kick, close.

47': Corner for them, taken to the far side of the 6 yard box... headed, it hits a defender and Gyan scoops it up. That was a clear cut chance for Match Fit.

HALF: We'll take it. They are outshooting us 7-4, just 1 on target from both teams, 1 clear cut chance for both. They are in control in the air, a rarity for Wake Forest games, we usually win the majority of our headers.

55': Roth with a terrible free kick from 30 yards out, they clear but we recover, work it back up to Roth where he puts a shot wide.

59': A cross into the 6 yard box from the left corner for MAtch Fit, it falls to their star Schmid and he puts it in from very close range. Boo! 0-1

61': Schmid with a shot from outside the box that hits the crossbar, that was close.

62': We have to attack now.

68': Crook in for Cooper, just too tired.

79': Tapia in for Glaser.

84': They pressure us after a goal kick and steal the ball in midfield, a run by ST Thompson and he shoots.. Gyan with a great diving stop, and we clear. That wsa their 4th clear cut chance.

There's just nothing we can do.

Wake Forest 0 : 1 Match Fit

We weren't expected to win this one, and they were obviously the better team, we only had one decent look and weren't able to finish it. They had lot of chances and made one of them work.

DC Galvis put up a 7.0 rating on the back line. A 6.1 from DL Campbell, everyone else was in that 6.5-6.7 range.

-- Samir Pace is going to be out for 2 months with the injury he picked up today. We only play one more match so no big deal.
