CL Selects Rookie Star of the Month

Noburo Nakagawa's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young
Napa Valley center fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.
In May he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.
During the month he hit .326 with 10 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs.
Nakagawa also scored 12 times and drove in 17 runs.
Thus far this season Nakagawa is hitting .284 with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 55 hits in 194 at-bats and has played in 55 games.

Alfonso Vélez is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Republic League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.
In May the
Hartford hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .377 average with 40 hits, 1 home run and 17 RBIs.
Vélez is hitting .311 in 2207 with 21 RBIs and 1 home run.
