Preventing the infectious disease from spreading or talking the media out of their hysteria? Giving realistic assessments & listening to experts seems wise in any case, but I'm not sure the overblown Ebola scare & COVID pandemic have much in common - if anything his job should have been to downplay the threat from what the American public felt while here it's the opposite.
