1986 Giants vs. 1999 Titans

The Giants get on the board first after taking the opening kickoff and driving to the 28 of the Titans. They hit a 45 yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Both defenses keep either team from mounting another drive and the quarter ends with the Giants up 3-0.

The Titans start out the 2nd quarter driving to the Giants' 32 and attempt a 49 yard field goal but it misses. The Giants quickly move into Titans' territory but Phil Simms is intercepted by Dainon Sidney at the 22. Two plays later McNair hits Wycheck who breaks a big gain, 64 yards to the Giants' 13. On the next play McNair hits George for the touchdown. The Titans take a 7-3 lead. On a near duplicate of the previous Giants' drive Simms is again intercepted by Sidney, this time at the Titans' 39. The Titans drive to the Giant's 10 but settle for a field goal to go up 10-3 with 1:56 left in the half. After the Giants are forced to punt the Titans drive to the Giants' 29 and attempt a last second 46 yard field goal. It is no good. The titans lead 10-3 at the half.

Each team adds a field goal in the 3rd. Simms does throw another interception in the quarter, the 3rd by Sidney. After three quarters the Titans lead 13-6.

After exchanging a couple punts in the 4th quarter the Giants may have one last chance as they start on their own 27 with 3:07 left in the game. Joe Morris takes a draw play and breaks into the secondary for a bit 52 yard gain. The Giants have a 1st down at the Titans' 21. Carthon is stopped for no gain, 2nd down. Simms hits Stacey Robinson for 13 yards, 1st down at the 8 as we reach the two minute warning. A false start pushed them back to the 13. Morris picks up 1 yard, 2nd and goal at the 12. Timeout called by the Giants with 1:56 left. Morris pounds straight ahead for 7 yards, 3rd and goal at the 5. Simms drops back and fires for Manuel in the endzone, touchdown! The extra point is good and the game is tied 13-13 with 1:30 left. The Titans are held to a three and out. The Giants have the ball at their own 45 with 40 seconds left. Johnson picks up 1 yard, 2nd and 9 at the 46. Timeout with 36 seconds left. Simms fires to Bavaro but he drops it, 3rd and 9. Simms hist Manuel for 16 yards, 1st down at the Titans' 38. Timeout with 22 seconds left. Morris picks up 7 on a quick pass, Simms spikes the ball. 3rd and 3 at the 31 with 8 seconds left. The Giants try a 48 yard field goal, it has the distance... but wide left. The game ends in a 13-13 tie.

1994 Chargers vs. 1985 Bears

The Chargers start out with a near 7 minute drive that ends with a 21 yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Neither team crosses midfield for the rest of the quarter. The Chargers lead 3-0 after the first quarter.

The Bears mount their first big drive to open the 2nd quarter. It ends with Jim McMahon hitting Walter Payton for a 26 yard screen pass for a touchdown to take a 7-3 lead. After a few punts the Bears are on the move again. They drive to the Chargers' 11 but McMahon is intercepted by Stanley Richard. The Chargers move quickly march downfield and hit a 44 yard field goal at the half ends to get to within 7-6.

After a series of 3 and outs the Bears start at their own 16 with 7:53 left in the quarter. McMahon throws a swing pass to Payton and he does his best Walter Payton and breaks it for an 84 yard touchdown. The Bears lead 14-6. The Chargers respond by driving to the Bears' 20 but they settle for a 37 yard field goal to make it 14-9. The quarter ends with the Bears having driven to the Chargers' 19 with a 1st down.

The Bears have to settle for a field goal as they cannot advance past the 18 but they take a 17-9 lead. The Chargers go 3 and out and the Bears get another field goal. Repeat that scenario two more times as the Bears hit 4 field goals in the 4th quarter to make the final 26-9.
