Virginia (6-8, 0-2 ACC) at Florida State (4-9, 0-2 ACC)

Battle for last place! We have a stronger roster than Virginia, and they are way down. Dave Leitao currently has a career record of 300-300. I can't imagine he'll be around long at UVA. Their last recruiting class was all 3* guys, and not top level ones either.

They're rated 81 OVR (82 off/80 def/84 sht/86 reb/86 coach). We have a stronger roster in every category.

Scouting

PG Hesse Harris – SR – 70 OVR – not really good at anything, not a power conference caliber guard. 80 defense, 76 close/71 med/76 3. We ought to shut him down easily.

SG Jai Len Bullicer – SR – 81 OVR – By far the most talented player on the team. 92 speed/84 quickness. 82 defense/76 steals. 86 close/71 med/79 3/85 off the dribble. 12.6 ppg/5.1 apg so far this year.

SF Vernon Pritchard – FR – 75 OVR – 6'7” natural SF, the #148 recruit last year, by far their best. Terrible defense(73). 80 close/71 med/68 3, he might develop into an ok scorer but not yet. 5.7 ppg/4.2 rpg.

PF Denham Hopkins – JR – 73 OVR – big dude, 7 foot PF. 77 orb/79 drb. 83 post off/75 post def. 85 close/82 in traffic. 11ppg/4rpg. Not great skills but imposing size.

C Spencer Doyle – JR – 72 OVR – 7'1” - 77 orb/74 drb. 77 post off/77 post def. 88 close/84 in traffic. 12.3 ppg/4.3 rpg. Similar to hopkins... holy crap look at that size.

They have a backup SG, Bret Ramos, actually their second highest rated player at 76 OVR. Most notweworthy is that he is an 86 rated 3 point shooter.

We expect a pretty big edge here overall.

They've hit 2 3's. Locklier just committed his 2nd foul and sits for a bit.

Sneed comes up huge against their giant 7 foot PF. He's 4-5 and has a couple free throws for an early 10 points. Backups are in, and we've got 6 straight(all from Sneed) with this last bucket, getting us a 6th man boost.

They score 7 straight before we get on the board. After another bucket UVA with a timeout to get some starters back in. I get my starters back in too, including Locklier with 2 fouls.

Huge run led by Moye and Forte with some help from Sneed, I think this is 8 straight for us, timeout UVA.

Solid finish to the half, though we had a couple chances to go up 7 and failed, still strong. We shoot great in the half, 16-28. We only try 1 three, and miss it. 3-5 at the line. UVA is 12-28, 3-9 from 3, 3-4 at the line. They have 8 from SG Len Bullicer, 7 from SF Pritchard.

We have a 6-10 half out of Sneed for 14 points, 6 boards too. Forte gets to the hoop a few times and has 7, Moye 6. Terrible show by the backups, 2 from Sanders, 2 from Barret, the end.

Great start to the half, Sneed hits his 2nd bucket(he's got 18) and we take a double digit lead.

No surprise here, a 7-0 run from UVA to keep us from running away with it. I go ahead and get a timeout.

Backups are in. Sneed is up to 22, a career high. We went back out ahead by 9 again, they have it back to 2 now. I need more out of my backups than the 4 points I got in the first half.

UVA timeout, we take advantage of a couple turnovers to extend the lead out a bit. Another minute or so for the starters to be rested for the stretch run.

They miss and actually after the timeout the starters are ready, so I get a TO myself to get them in.

A bucket from Moye, then a turnover and a layup by Ozier and its a 10 point game again, timeout UVA.

Looks like we ought to wrap this up.

We miss a couple front ends of 1 and 1s in the final minute but its too late to matter.

Florida State 68
Virginia 61

They end up with 18 out of their SF, Pritchard, and 14 out of Len Bullicer, the SG. The 7 foot PF Hopkins scores 11 and has 7 boards, but they get little support past that.

Forte: 12 points/3 assists/4 steals
Moye: 10 points/3 assists
Ozier: 8 points
Sneed: 22 points/8 boards
Locklier: 4 points/9 boards

Sneed goes 10-17, missing a few towards the end, but I'm hoping to see this kind of dominance out of him a lot more often as he develops.
