Recruiting Wrap-up:
Scholarships offered 16 of 16
G – Irving Pace ** (1794) interest 25 (no other schools) – Recruiting is over until signing day, but I throw him my last offer, hoping he commits on signing day to give us another body here

Commits:

WR – Troy Mitchell ** (1402) interest 40 (no other schools) – Commits week 11, great speed, that’s about it.
FB – Geoffrey Daughtry ** (2415) interest 75 (no other schools) – Commits week 12, fills a need.
LB – George Orr ** (1264) interest 46 (no other schools) – Commits week 12, like I said last week, I think he is a sleeper, good get!
K – Donald Scott * (2719) interest 92 (Old Dominion) – Commits week 13, whaaat!?!?! We win a recruiting battle!!
T – Kurt Kay ** (1542) interest 46 (no other schools) – Commits week 14, about time you sonofa….
SS – Karl Farmer ** (1548) interest 32 (no other schools) – Commits week 14, as expected here, did I mention dumb and a shitty tackler yet?
WR – Miguel Williams ** (1341) interest 36 (no other schools) – Commits week 15, again I was confident about him, nothing sexy, but depth.
G – Norman Harbin ** (1385) interest 46 (no other schools) – Commits week 15, this could actually turn out to be a solid get.
TE – Todd Thorne ** (1392) interest 29 (no other schools) – Commits week 15, he was only recruited for depth all along, but glad we got him.
QB – Richard Kolb ** (1340) interest 30 (no other schools) –Commits week 16, the additions of him and Mark Lear will give us some options in the coming seasons at QB.
QB – Mark Lear *** (1244) interest 10 (no other schools) – Commits week 16, another under the radar kid, but not much better than Kolb from first glance, still a good pickup after we lose Leigh.
RB – Victor Earle ** (1355) interest 33 (no other schools) – Commits week 16, with Curry getting an offer from Louisville, no point chasing him still, hello to plan B, probably nothing more than a depth player.
CB – Rafael Morrill *** (791) Interest 1 (No other schools) – Commits week 16, with Dockery as good as gone, we find this guy in Alaska and steal him at the wire. He adds to an already strong position.
LB – James Ferguson *** (509) interest 1 (No other schools) – Commits week 16, he decides to not wait and pulls the trigger. Another huge pickup from off the beaten path, he and Morrill save an otherwise very ho-hum year for recruiting.
DT – Johnny Denning ** (1251) interest 33 (no other schools) – Commits week 16, a project for sure, but he could develop over time.

Lost:
G – Kevin Smith ** (1285) interest 22 (Commit to UConn week 7) – He is the first recruit we lose as he pulls the trigger on the Huskies offer.
DT – Ezequiel Charles *** (1012) interest 8 (Commit to Marshall week 13) – The Thundering Herd finally give him another offer and he can’t say yes fast enough.
QB – Ken Leigh *** (1116) interest 13 (Commit to Virginia Tech week 15) – When his next offer finally came it was good, don’t blame him.
G – Andrew Savage *** (1185) interest 3 (Commit to Western Kentucky week 16) – No surprise, uncle Brian will be happy.
RB – Joshua Curry *** (1089) interest 14 (Commit to Louisville week 16) – We chased him as long as we could, good luck in the ACC.
CB – Salvatore Dockery *** (1030) interest 8 (Commit to Louisiana Lafayette week 16 ) – I think losing him was a blessing as I was able to find Morrill.
LB – Francis Franklin *** (938) interest 8 (Commit to Louisiana Tech week 16) – The Bulldogs beat out Cincinnati and Toledo for his services, surprising since Toledo finished 12-0 and ranked 6th (The only FBS unbeaten) but again we gained form this loss.

Not a great class, but not terrible. We only “lose” 7 of our offered targets, but all were reaches anyway. Overall we have commitments from three 3 stars, eleven 2 stars and a single 1 star, with one scholarship still open. We did get stronger on defense for sure and pretty much just added depth on the offensive side, though I am hoping someone like Harbin or Williams can surprise.
