It just baffles me how he ever though this could have just gone away.
By making sure this was dealt with when the allegations first came out in 1998, pushing his AD and even going public himself he could have cemented his legacy as an icon.
Now his legacy destroyed because he thought it was better to protect a predator for fear of how it would make the program look. Any respect I had for Paterno is long gone and he deserves this ending.
