Injury Update

-- I forgot to mention it after the last match, David Campbell is going to miss 3 months with an injury he picked up in the last match, so he's done until we start training for next season.

Atlantic Coast Cup Semifinals

Valdosta Victory (3rd, ACAL) vs Wake Forest Cougars (1st, ACAL)

Attendance: 229

-- We beat Valdosta 2:1 at their place back in April. We're 4:7 favorites today as the random odds continue.

Starting Lineup

GK: Gyan
D: Rongen/Hernandez/Pickering/Varela
M: Tapia/Wilkins
AM: Davidson/Cooper
ST: Maurer/Roth

Backups at DL/DR, one of our MC's, one of our ST's. I think its a pretty solid linep though. We'll counterattack on the road.

16': They get a through ball to the left side for a clear cut chance, Rongen does a nice job recovering to block it though.

18': ugghh, cooper with a minor injury.

35': Davidson with a cross to the far side of the 6 yard box, Roth is there for a volley, but its right at the keeper, there's a rebound, Cooper is there to follow up and he puts it in! 1-0

37': Maurer to Roth for a goal but he's so far offsides its almost not worth typing anything.

HALF: Its a pretty boring half, we outshoot them 4-1, both teams are tackling well and that seems to be limiting chances on both sides.

68': Cooper with a horrible giveaway in our half to start their attack, a cross in from the right, Pickering with a nice header, but they recover, send it back out right, there's another cross immediately, and this time they get the headed goal. 1-1

74': We work it up the middle after winning a goal kick, Maurer finds Roth at the penalty spot and he slams it in! 2-1

81': They try a shot from 20 yards out, just high.

82': They win it after our goal kick, quickly advance and try another shot from 25 yards, its strong and on target, Gyan has to dive to stop it. They get a corner but can only manage a poor shot wide after it.

82': Defensive mindset.

-- Atlanta FC beats CASL Chelsea in the other semifinal, we will meet Atlanta in the finals of the Atlantic Coast Cup.

-- We receive $48,430 for this win. Good money but at least in this tournament you have to basically go all the way to get it.

-- no injury for Ian Coooper, whew.
