1 feature game this week, and it took place in the Pac 12.

2/24/18- Colorado (Rob Nielsen) @ #10 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- The Bruins only led by 5 at halftime. Coach Shepard wasn't happy. UCLA outscored Colorado 47-24 in the second half. They shot 53.7% to just 35.4% for the Buffaloes. Not the effort Colorado needed.

Final Score: #10 UCLA- 80, Colorado- 52

Now to the rest of the weekly recap:

Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- 16-14, 8-8 5th America East.

2/21/18 at Stony Brook (L 65-35).

The Hawks end the regular season with a whimper and limp to the 5th seed in the America East tourney where they'll take on 4th seed Vermont, who beat them twice in the regular season.

ECU (Al Hutt) --9-17, 6-10 7th American.

2/21/18 vs. UCF (W 70-59).
2/24/18 vs. SMU (L 78-68).

A split for the Pirates, and with 9 wins have matched their season high since this dynasty started. They'll have a hard time breaking it next week though, as they have 2 road games with opponents that are a combined 41-15.

Tulsa (Will Brown) -- 19-9, 11-5 4th American.

2/21/18 at South Florida (W 70-50).
2/24/18 vs. Temple (W 70-62).

2 important wins for the Golden Hurricane this week, who have a big showdown at UConn next week in a game which might decide 4th place in the conference.

Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 20-8, 12-4 T-2nd Atlantic 10.

2/21/18 vs. #18 LaSalle (L 77-71).
2/24/18 vs. George Mason (W 88-62).

A split for the Wildcats this week, but they really needed that game against LaSalle. That would have kept them at the top. Now they are going to have to win both games next week and get help.

Clemson (Charles Johnson) -- 14-13, 8-9 9th ACC.

2/21/18 vs. Wake Forest (W 54-43).
2/24/18 at #15 Miami (L 68-55).

A split for the Tigers, who have 1 regular season game left next week against a 20 win team, so it'll be tough. They will finish either 9th, 10th, or 11th in the conference.

Duke (Dean Hoo) -- 14-13, 5-11 T-12th ACC.

2/21/18 at Notre Dame (L 65-55).
2/24/18 vs. North Carolina (L 73-64).

2 more losses for the Blue Devils, who we thought were turning the corner following that upset win over Villanova, but it appears not to be. The good thing is, they can't finish last in the ACC, but this has been a very disappointing season.

#7 Kansas (Dave Johnson) -- 23-6, 14-3 1st Big 12.

2/19/18 vs. #4 Baylor (W 82-69).
2/24/18 vs. Texas Tech (W 89-54).

The Jayhawks got a huge win against Baylor this week, that win putting them back at the top. All they have to do is beat in-state rivals Kansas State next week to clinch the conference title outright. If they lose, it could then become a 3 team race.

TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 10-18, 2-14 10th (last) Big 12.

2/19/18 vs. West Virginia (W 44-43).
2/24/18 vs. Texas (L 78-57).

An upset win for the Horned Frogs over West Virginia. They'll probably finish last in the Big 12 again, but they have a chance to keep their winning streak going over Texas Tech, as they play again next week.

Michigan (Cillian Tribble) -- 13-15, 6-10 T-11th Big Ten.

2/21/18 vs. Nebraska (L 75-62).
2/24/18 vs. Rutgers (W 73-63).

The Wolverines break a 5 game losing streak with the win over Rutgers. Next week they have a winnable game with Indiana, then a really tough road game to finish up the regular season.

#12 Michigan State (Al Mighty) -- 22-6, 12-4 2nd Big Ten.

2/21/18 vs. #17 Wisconsin (L 100-96).
2/24/18 vs. Penn State (L 75-74).

Ouch! 2 tough, tough losses for the Spartans. The Wisconsin loss is forgivable, the Penn State loss isn't. With these 2 losses, Michigan State can do no better than 2nd in the conference, and could drop to 4th if they lose both games next week. At this point, anything is possible.

Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 19-8, 8-8 T-6th Big Ten.

2/21/18 vs. #23 Illinois (W 72-69).
2/24/18 at #1 Ohio State (L 77-62).

A split for the Wildcats who get a big win over Illinois, and actually led Ohio State at halftime before falling apart. As crazy as the middle of the conference is, they could finish anywhere from 4th to 12th based on next weeks results.

Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 16-12, 9-5 T-1st Big West.

2/24/18 at UC Riverside (W 63-62).

1 game this week for the Warriors, and they escape with a road victory by the slimmest of margins. Still a lot to be decided in the conference with 2 games next week. If Hawaii can win both, they are guaranteed a share of the conference title. Losing 1 could still give them a chance. Losing both probably means 2nd place or worse.

Charlotte (Timmy Tribble) -- 7-21, 4-12 T-11th Conference USA.

2/22/18 vs. North Texas (L 66-51).
2/24/18 at Marshall (L 65-50).

2 more losses for the 49ers, and with 2 games left in the regular season, they need to win 1 of those games to guarantee staying out of the cellar.

Rice (Charlie Shocker) -- 16-11, 10-6 T-5th Conference USA.

2/22/18 at Southern Miss (W 60-58, OT).
2/24/18 at Florida Atlantic (W 87-51).

Don't look now, but the Owls are thinking about a postseason berth. Their last 2 regular season games are favorable for wins, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that they could finish 3rd in the conference. Regardless of what happens, Coach Shocker has to get some mention for C-USA Coach of the Year.

Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 14-16, 11-9 T-5th MAAC.

2/22/18 at Southern Illinois (L 56-45).

The Hawks finished off with a non-conference loss this week. They'll be the 6th seed in the MAAC Tournament and open up with 11th seed Marist, who they split with.

Norfolk State (Payten Carrano) -- 13-15, 8-7 T-5th MEAC.

2/19/18 at Coppin State (W 66-56).
2/24/18 at South Carolina State (W 79-74).

2 good road wins for the Spartans. Believe it or not, with a win in their final regular season game next week, and losses by all the teams ahead of them, they could still claim the #2 seed in the MEAC tournament. It's a longshot though, a real long shot. More realistically, they'll be somewhere between the 5th and 10th seed.

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 14-13, 9-7 T-4th Pac 12.

2/22/18 at USC (W 64-59).
2/24/18 at #10 UCLA- feature game, highlighted above.

A split for the Buffaloes this week, and they would really love to win both games next week. They've got a slight, very slight, chance for 2nd place, but more than likely, they are looking at between 4th and 7th.

Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 20-8, 11-5 2nd Pac 12.

2/22/18 vs. California (W 64-58).
2/24/18 at Utah (W 57-49).

2 more wins for the Cardinal, who have another 20 win season. 2 more games next week, and they'll be playing for 2nd place, as 1st place is unattainable.

#10 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 24-4, 14-2 1st Pac 12.

2/22/18 vs. Utah (W 68-38).
2/24/18 vs. Colorado- feature game, highlighted above.

Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 15-13, 7-9 T-8th Pac 12.

2/22/18 at Arizona (L 72-56).
2/24/18 at Oregon (L 82-64).

The Cougars are slipping a bit, losers of 4 of their last 5, but they've already accomplished their goal of staying out of the cellar. They will most likely fall in the 7-9 seed range for the Pac 12 tournament.

Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 17-11, 12-4 T-1st SEC.

2/21/18 at Auburn (W 77-69).
2/24/18 vs. Texas A&M (W 66-52).

The Crimson Tide continue to roll, winners of 8 in a row and 10 of their last 11. They are back in the postseason picture, and have a great chance to win the SEC, as they play a .500 team and a sub .500 team. Beating both gives them a share of the SEC title.

Florida (Noah Oppenheimer) -- 20-8, 10-6 T-5th SEC.

2/21/18 vs. Arkansas (W 94-61).
2/24/18 vs. South Carolina (W 88-74).

The Gators get a couple easy wins this week, as they keep their slight SEC title chances alive. Next week is the rematch against Kentucky, and they are hoping for a much better effort.

#8 Kentucky (Patrick Hutt) -- 23-5, 12-4 T-1st SEC.

2/21/18 vs. Missouri (W 96-59).
2/24/18 vs. Arkansas (W 81-72).

2 more wins for the Wildcats, who stay on pace for another SEC title. A big showdown with Florida next week, but they are in the same position as Alabama and VCU. 2 wins clinches a share of the SEC title.

Troy (Brett Hawkins) -- 10-18, 7-12 10th Sun Belt.

2/24/18 vs. South Alabama (L 78-64).

Just 1 game for the Trojans this week, who took another loss. 1 game next week, and they'll stay out of the cellar guaranteed. With a win next week and the right teams losing, they could bounce up to the 6th seed in the conference tourney, but that is very unlikely.

Here is a look at the national top 25 going into next week:

Kansas moves up 3 spots after that big win at Baylor. UCLA moves up a spot, while Kentucky drops 2 spots after a 2 win week. I don't get that. Michigan State only drops 4 spots despite losing both games this week. They probably would have dropped more except the losses were by 5 points combined. Florida is back in the national top 25, but amazingly, Stanford is nowhere to be found. Not even receiving a vote. My goodness, what's it going to take for the Cardinal to get some respect from the pollsters?

Now for the mid-major top 25.

Now for the bubble watch, and we have 2 of our FOFC teams represented.

Code:
OVERALL BUBBLE WATCH Team Record RPI vs. 1-50 vs. 51-100 vs. 101-200 vs. 200+ SOS Projected -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nebraska 16-10 .605 (15) 3-7 4-2 5-1 4-0 5 In Alabama 17-11 .594 (22) 4-5 5-2 6-4 2-0 19 In Connecticut 18-10 .576 (38) 2-6 4-1 4-2 8-1 39 In Texas 17-11 .579 (35) 4-9 2-1 6-1 5-0 36 In West Virginia 17-11 .588 (28) 4-7 1-1 8-3 4-0 15 In Rhode Island 18-10 .570 (45) 0-3 5-5 8-2 5-0 79 In Arizona 17-11 .573 (40) 3-5 4-3 6-3 4-0 25 In UNLV 18-10 .602 (17) 0-3 2-3 8-4 8-0 11 In Pepperdine 18-10 .564 (51) 0-5 3-1 7-4 8-0 82 Out BYU 19-11 .588 (27) 1-6 4-1 9-1 5-3 21 Out George Washington 16-10 .563 (52) 1-4 5-3 6-3 4-0 60 Out Georgia State 19-11 .557 (59) 0-6 1-1 6-4 12-0 92 Out Tulsa 19-9 .554 (66) 3-3 5-2 6-2 5-2 139 Out Old Dominion 21-7 .553 (67) 2-4 0-1 8-0 11-2 262 Out Butler 17-12 .563 (53) 3-7 4-3 5-2 5-0 32 Out

Alabama is only projected in thanks to the RPI and the SOS. It's been that way for years. You can take a few losses if your SOS is in the top 50 or so. The 9-7 record against the RPI top 100 just proves it, as over half their games are against the top 100. They can really seal the deal with a couple wins next week. Even a split would probably be ok.

Tulsa, on the other hand, has some work to do. They are on the next four out list, which means they've got to really take care of business next week, really needing to win both. If they win at UConn, I like their chances. Either way, they've got some kind of postseason in their future.

Now for the rest of the FOFC teams:

Locks: Davidson, Kansas, Michigan State, UCLA, Stanford, Kentucky, Florida.

So let me get this straight, Stanford is a lock for the NCAA Tournament, but can't get one vote in the national top 25?? What is up with that?
