They regularly update each teams record for the goal total per period. Some of the numbers are staggering and you can definitely capitalize on it. Not only can you do so by betting the periods, but if a game starts slow between 2 teams that play a lot of second and third period overs you can usually find a nice price on the in game over.
I also run a Facebook group called Fans of VSIN where I try and repost the updated period records

I know that there for a week last year, people were making a ton of money on 1st period overs on certain teams until Vegas got wise and shut that down... the lines were like -190 or worse on O1.5 1st period.
