Steve Victory JOURNAL – Final Four 2026
Both Final Four games follow the same general theme. Close in the first half, with the favorites pulling away down the stretch. State wins the first game 71-59 after leading Florida by only 2 at the break. Utah tops Kansas in the second semi 78-66 after leading the Jayhawks by just 4 at intermission.
Andre Baker looks ready to claim yet another MVP award for NCSU, scoring 20 points. Deon Brown, filling in for Ian Hemphill, scores 14 and Michael Stokes adds 13.
So it’s State and Utah in the 2026 championship game!! The Wolfpack will try to do what no team has done since Victory started coaching – win back-to-back NCT titles. Utah (37-3) will try to win its first national title. The odds-makers like State. Victory can taste another trip up a ladder to cut down championship nets… He doesn’t think he’ll climb onto the backboards this season, though he might get the urge if the moment is right…
(Reminder: Utah was the team that effectively ended Victory's 15-year quest by beating his Alabama team in the NCT in year 15 ... Victory REALLY wants to win this one... )
