Des Moines Menace (5-3-1, 4th) at NY Cosmos (1-0-8, 18th)

NY gets stripped while trying to penetrate our defensive line. This sets up a perfect counterattack as we get the ball to Shepard, move Cannon behind the line and get him the ball right by the keeper. The Rainbow Feint is successful for the lead. Only 6 minutes later, we get the ball to Hoffman. He uses his break-in ability and then dribbles right by the keeper to double the lead. NY manages to take one back late inthe 1st half on a Cannon Shot (probably our biggest weakness), but we shut them down in the 2nd half by winning the possession battle.
