It is Draft Time!

1. Detroit selects..... Raynardo Gomez. This is a weak draft, but this 6'6 227 pound SF who is 24 is clearly the best player in the draft despite his age.

2. The Kings take Sid Toole, a 20 year PG who is a project and smallish.

3. The Nets take a 6'0 190 piund 21 year old SG. A real reach in my opinion.

The Wizards offer the 4th and 8 pick for Iggy. No way am I trading our most popular player. Iggy will win at least 1 ring in Philly.

4. The Wizards settle for 6'6 237 pound 22 year old SF Jason Stribling. He looks like the 2nd best player in this draft to me.

5. The Pacers get the top big man in the draft in PF Jamal Brooks. But, as I said, this is a down year. I don't like him as much as I liked Jefferson at 6 last year.

The Grizzlies offer the 6th pick for Holiday. I turn them down.

6. The Grizzlies reach for a PG in Johnnie Nixon.

7. The Bucks get a decent SF in Barry Gooden who is 6'8 234 and is only 20.

8. The Wizards take a 2nd SF in Perry Cousins, a 6'8 229 SF who was way lower on my board.

The Trailblazers offer Earl Clark and the 9th pick for Holiday. I again say no.

9. The Trailblazers reach for a PG and take Mitchell Lawson. I had 2 PG's ahead of him. Terrible pick in my opinion.

10. Clippers take Trent Maxwell, a 6'2 combo guard who is 21. Good shooter.

11. The Spurs get a potential replacement for Duncan in PF Max Hall who is 6'9 240.

12. The Jazz take Andrew Faulk, a 6'5 SG who is 22 and has some talent.

13. The Hawks get good value in SF Tim Holland who is 6'6 241 and only 20. Lots of room for improvement.

14. Cavs take a so-so SG in Bruce Augustin. 6'4 197, 21 years old.

15. Wolves take an even worse SG in Duane Felton. 6'3 215 and not that good.

16. Mavs reach for Fredrick Erickson. This draft is not deep at all. Matter of fact, the talent at the top was weak too. Erickson is a 6'8 240 pound SF.

17. Hornets get some of the best value in this draft with PF Marc Nixon who is actually pretty good rebounder and shooter at 6'9 250.

18. The Magic take Jerome Bowden, a 6'7 243 pound SF.

19. The Thunder get a decent backup PG in Sergei Kasparov.

20. The Lakers take the PG I wanted, 6'2 187 pound Neil Torres is a very good shooter. But, he lacks play making ability.

21. The Warriors take a 6'6 220 pound SF named Aaron Wingate. He is 23.

22. The Bobcats took the big man I was targeting, 7'1 240 pound C Rolando Ross. Looks like a beast on the glass.

23. The Celtics take Chase Hill, 6'7 200 pound SG who looks like a project.

24. The Nuggets take another big man I was targeting, PF/C Rod Delk.

25. The Pacers get the last big man I was targeting for my 1st round pick, Dion Griffith. Dion is 6'10 250 and is a good shooter.

26. The Knicks take a project in 6'11 240 pound C Lamar Stafford.

27. The Rockets take a 6'10 200 pound SF I was targeting, Johnathan Baylor. Has a decent shot.

28. I take 6'4 229 pound SG Gerald Walsh. He is a pure shooter who doesn't do much else well. Could take role of Kapono and give us a few minutes when we desperately need a 3.

29. The Heat get their starting C possibly in Eddie Verne. 6'11 260 but very raw.

30. The Thunder take 6'8 200 pound SG Otis Trent. Good defender and I'm wishing I had took him.

My 2nd round pick:

Ron Jamison is a 23 year old center who is 7'1 266 and is a fierce rebounder and defender. Slow and doesn't have any offensive game. But, he will fill George's role for us.
