Chattahoochee Gold Time Trials @ Cumming Aquatic Center - 9/15

The Chattahoochee Gold Meet went real well...the boys had fun and did a good job...

Bear

50 Fly - Bear's fly is still a work in progress, as he is still trying to learn the longer stroke, which of course can impact times, but he look much better and still managed a strong personal best time of 39.66. But the more interesting thing is that he finished 2nd overall, and the boy that beat him will be 11 by the time the state meet rolls around...

50 Breast - Still up and down with this stroke. While his form is much better than it was last year at this time, he still lacks a powerful kick and can get to up and down. However, he has a great pullout..was off of his best time posting a 49.46. In case you are curious his time placed him 5th, and his best time would have ben 4th...

50 Free - Bear again had a personal best...form was a little sloppy, but he busted his butt to post a 34.31. Again this was 2nd overall at the meet, and in fact, it was the same kid that beat him in fly that beat him here...

Brett

50 Back - Brett's back was pretty good...he definately looked more comfortable than he ever has before swimming on his back. He had a nice start and good turn. There are still some flaws in his stroke which are keeping him from increasing the stroke rate enough to go fast, but it appears to be coming along nice. He posted a personal best 41.94

50 Breast - Brett, as it typical was quick off the blocks, but behind after everyones pullout. The boy just lacks the strong dolphin kick to propel himself in the pullout. However, once he was up, he was fast...blew past most the field only to lose ground on the pull out after the turn. But he swam strong coming home and finished 2nd overall. He improved his time by 2 seconds to post a 39.82. Like Bear, the boy the beat Brett will age up before the state meet...

50 Free - Brett's form was much better, as he continues to build on the improvements from the end of last year. He's still not an elite freestyler, but he's now officially caught up with his siblings and he's sitting squarely in the middle of the pack in results. He posted a personal best 34.38
