CHAMPIONS GROUP STAGE GAME #1 – Home vs Benfica. This is our best chance to display that we have a shot at getting out. Defeat Benfica here and we can get three points from the #2 seed from the first gun. I come out attacking. They almost score in the 13th off a nice counter, and I ease back to standard. I learned my lessen. Then in the 18th, Gimenez to Ivan for a goal that’s called offsides. A few minutes later, Margeman finds Lupu on an attack, and he put sit away. And…..that’;s going to be the game. Quiet, boring, no one really does much. We win 1-0, and MOM is Margeman.
I will take a win all day long.
Etebo is jaded and needs some rest. I’ll start Stoian at MR for a few games.
