Just to be clear on this, I don't ever state that to "take advantage" of people's opinions on this. I don't lie about real life stuff in these games. And I have always said I think people should vote for me even if I am not around, if they think they have a legitimate reason.
I (and I think anyone) would be rightfully miffed if they were voted out for a "just because" reason and they weren't around. No protection, though, if there is good reason to vote for you, no matter what day it is or where you are.
