General Update - Covid

Bear just started running a fever today, so looks like he didn't escape the bus unscathed. It'll be interesting to see how many come down with it out of the ~40 swimmers that were travelling home with him. To the best of my knowledge currently there have been 7 swimmers that tested positive, counting the two that were positive before the trip and the two that were positive before the bus left to come home. I expect that number will climb significantly.

The biggest problem at this point is classes start on Monday, and Bear's not even allowed to test until then (meaning the earliest they would allow him back on campus is Tuesday, 1/11). However, now that he's running a fever the likelihood of him testing positive on Monday is high, so he'll be forced to quarantine an additional 5 days or more, which means he's going to start class almost 2 weeks behind. Not great for academics.

There is also supposed to be a meet on the 15th. I fully expect that to be cancelled.
