Most, yeah.

I see the same tendency in my son (cause I'm a long way removed from much in the way of ceremonies personally) but his feelings largely seem to mirror mine: it's a lot of hassle & some amount of drudgery for something that's merely been a means to an end. The ceremonies are endured for the benefit / satisfaction of others when, personally, you'd sooner be doing a hundred other things. (if nothing else, you could be sleeping)

I completely understand his take, whereas they are mystifying to my wife.
