Between Iraq and a Hard Place: A Georgia EU4 AAR

Between Iraq and a Hard Place: A Georgia EU4 AAR

King Vakhtang IV of the line of Bagrationi has led the brave Georgian people since 1433. The 30 year old King, aged 27 has guarded his kingdom from outside influences and the steppe hordes that surround his fledgling nation. With Qara Qoyunlu to the south, the rising Ottoman Empire to the west and Crimea, The Golden Horde and others to the north and a distinct difference in religious beliefs, the Orthodox Georgians have to compete with their Sunni and Shia neighbors. Although Circassia is a fellow Orthodox neighbor to the direct north, relations have been tense for a number of years. Genoa has minor holdings in the northern Black Sea as well.

Can Georgia carve out a place in history as one of the world's great nations? Can they spread their belief, the true belief of Christianity to the rest of the world, converting Muslims and Catholics alike? Can they expand and conquer, eating up territory and provinces as the years fall by? Or will they beaten taken in a wave of Sunni and Shia armies, destroyed by the Hordes of the steppes or the mighty Ottoman Empire?

Only time and history will tell.

You will see our meager territories in red on the eastern half of the known world. With the massive Sunni hordes and the Shia horde of Qara Qoyunlu due south, allies will be few and far between in the early days of Georgian history. Survival will be the name of the game.

With the introduction done and dusted, shall we begin?
