With communications being what they are, it is difficult to ensure that our diplomatic dispatches arrive in a timely fashion. Creating a network of post offices and courier rest stops will make it easier for our voice to be heard in distant territories.

Surrounded by powerful countries of different religion and culture we are forced to use opportunistic diplomacy and often change allegiances in order to appease everyone and preserve peace for as long as it's possible.

We have noticed that Golden Horde have allied Qara Qoyunlu. We are officially surrounded by Muslim allies on all sides.
We have accepted an alliance with Muscovy. They will take time to recover, but we need an ally.

It seems as if a leading shipwright in our country has written a very convincing document detailing how the new ship technology, that his rival has been trying to get funding for, will never work, and may even cause the ships to sink before they leave the harbor.

The King of Burgundy Dies
The great King Louis-Joseph I de Bourgogne and his closest followers have tragically been killed! In an effort to win the current war, the King personally led his troops into battle, valiantly charging his enemies. His naked and disfigured body was later found in a ditch his head having been cleft in two.
The death of the last de Bourgogne King of Burgundy has plunged the country into turmoil and left it vulnerable to intervention from powerful neighbors.
Short update and not something we would normally look at, but I feel this is a huge event in the game. When the King of Burgundy dies, the lands of Burgundy generally go to whomever is Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Currently that is the Palatinate, who starts off as a three province nation. They have just lucked into the riches big time.
You'll also see that East Frisia and Trier have grown quite a bit and Cornwall has separated from England. Things are very interesting in Europe.
