Game Preview

Ottawa head coach John Gantt heads up another team that has fully embraced the run game on offense. Where Saskatoon layers in option and deception plays, Ottawa is 100% focused on smash mouth football. HB's Ronnie MacDonald (1-3-2) (OOC, this is 100% a randomly generated name and I think it's hilarious) and Avis Short (0-3-0) are fronted by a trio of mauling offensive linemen. This team will only throw the ball to make sure the QB is still awake and ready to act as a vehicle to hand the ball off. The defense was a second priority but they have corners who can stop the pass and a front 7 specialised to stop the run.

Regina is fronted by coach Bill Toms, who is a big believer in balance. Their offense will be keyed by star wideout Brett Charron (3-0-2) in his 2nd year, rookie QB Elroy Dawson (2-0-1) and competent veteran Maria Ploughman (2-0-2). Corner Kirk Schaffer (2-0-2) captains a balanced defense that's a real mix of youth and veteran skill.
