If I ever design a game like this, it'll feature something I call jittertime. Kinda like OT, where if the margin is within one "full score" then the trailing team gets one chance to take the lead, and then the team that was leading gets a chance.

Can't decide whether it should be one time only or multiple times.

For example
Team A leads Team B 24-21 entering Jittertime. Team B gets one possession. If they score three points or more (to tie or take the lead), the game is extended one more possession. Team A would then have one possession to move ahead of Team B. (then either end of game, or back to Team B to try to extend it further.
